  1. Can I smoke or use tobacco while I'm there?  In accordance with our emphasis on encouraging healthy lifestyles,the Sterling-Rock Falls Family YMCA is a tobacco-free facility.Smoking, chewing or other use of tobacco is prohibited throughout

    the building.

  2. Can you have food or drinks there?   Please keep food and drink in pool viewing lounge. Water bottlesonly are permitted outside of the viewing lounge.

  3. Is there a dress code?   The YMCA seeks to model and encourage behavior that fits with our Character Development Initiative (Caring, Honesty, Respect, & Responsibility). To that end we hope that the dress of all persons inthe building would reflect those values. Dress that is offensive or overly revealing does not uphold the mission of the YMCA. Staff,members and participants are asked to dress in such a way as to not offend others. Shirts and shoes are required in all areas except the locker rooms and pool area. Cut-offs and shirts are not allowed in the pool as swimming attire. No shoes are allowed on the pool deck. Infants should wear swim diapers and rubber pants.

  4. How old do I have to be to use the steam room, sauna, and whirlpool?   You must be 15 years of age or older to use these amenities. These facilities are coed. Please follow the rules and regulations posted.

  5. Is there a locker room and how much do they cost to rent?     Yes, there are Men's, Women's, and Special Needs locker room for families and those with disabilities available.  A short or tall locker may be rented for 6 or 12 months. The cost is $30, $60 for a short locker and $42, $84 for a tall locker. A lock deposit of $5.00 is required, which is returned when you return the lock as we provide the locks.

  6. What should I do with my valuables while I'm there?   Members and guests of the Sterling-Rock Falls Family YMCA are responsible for the security and safekeeping of their own valuables. The Sterling-Rock Falls Family YMCA cannot be responsible for lost or stolen articles. Please bring your own lock or you may purchase one from our Welcome Center staff. A Lost and Found is located at the Welcome Center. Articles found in the YMCA will be stored for one month. At the end of that period, unclaimed articles will be discarded.

  7. Can I use YMCA equipment while I'm there?   Yes, we have basketballs that may be checked out at the Welcome Center. Please return equipment to the Welcome Center. A driver’s license must be given to the Welcome Center staff to be held until the basketball is returned.
